If you’ve been working from home, but haven’t been feeling very productive, we’ve got some tips for you to try out!
Social distancing is giving us all the opportunity to think outside the box in terms of making our home serve as a place to live, play, work, and everything else for the time being. If you’ve been working from home, but haven’t been feeling very productive, we’ve got some tips for you to try out!
Here’s our top 7 tips to make working from home easier:
1. Find a quiet spot:
Try to put your workstation in a spot where distractions will be minimized as much as possible. A quiet corner in your bedroom is better than a whole office, if the office doubles as a play room. If music isn’t distracting for you, play some in the background to help drown out the sounds of daily life going on in the rest of the house.
2. Organize your workspace:
A cluttered desktop covered in yesterday’s coffee mug and preschool art projects can make it hard to focus, even if you don’t consciously feel it. Keep your workspace clear and clean to help you stay on task.
3. Start with a clean home:
Starting the work week with a nice clean home will really help you to not feel overwhelmed as the week goes on. Try to carve out a little time on the weekends to tidy up and make a clean slate.
4. Focus on aromatherapy
Diffuse essential oils like our ReFocus Blend to encourage you to stay on task, especially during the afternoon slump. Our Little Genius Kids Blend is great for kids who are trying to get schoolwork done at home too!
5. Go green
Add a breath of fresh air to your workspace by keeping live plats in your space. It will brighten you mood and help you to be more productive.
6. Use micro to-do lists
A long to-do list can be really daunting, so try to keep it simple. Begin each work day by making a short list of your top priorities, and work your way through. You can always add more once those items are crossed off.
7. Get some air
Make time to take meaningful breaks throughout the day. Even 10 minutes of real downtime can be rejuvenating. Get outside, meditate, and spend some time with your family to get a quality mental reset.
